Sinicuichi, Heimia salicifolia
Sinicuichi shrub can be found from Argentina to Mexico. It has been used in shamanic rituals and ancient divination since the time of the Aztecs. Traditionally the Sinicuichi leaves are crushed and mixed with water and left to ferment in the sun for 2 days. This intoxicating drink causes drowsiness and euphoria and often helps the drinker to recall past events, even pre natal as if they happened only yesterday.
Sinicuichi belongs to the Lythroceae family and is known to contain at least alkaloids Cryogenine or Vertine which seem to be most active.
